Hello, lovelies, I’m Matisse and I’m so happy to welcome you to my blog, Simply Matisse. This is a place for me to talk about things I’m passionate about like body positivity, food, home decor, crafting, mental health and, well, really just life in general.
By day, I’m a public relations professional for a national non-profit based out of Toronto and a part-time instructor at a local college. By night, I focus on this blog, freelance, and spend time with my wonderful husband, Peter, and our two Old English Sheepdogs, Agnes and Edith. And yes, they are named after the two youngest girls from the movie series Despicable Me.
After years of renting, Peter and I bought a semi-detached home in Oshawa, Ont., that we’re slowly starting to upgrade. Now, we’re not the handiest of folks, but we’re learning along the way, even if curse words get overused from time to time.
I’m an avid reader who likes to learn more about interior design. I also obsess over stationery (yes, Staples is my happy place!) and crafting things with my Circut. And I’m known for fangirling over RuPaul’s Drag Race, Golden Girls, Bob’s Burgers, and Grey’s Anatomy.
But one of my biggest passions is cooking! I love trying new recipes and experimenting with new flavours. With my Italian background, I tend to favour carb-based foods (Mmm pasta *drool*). But, I love trying new things, and I’m lucky to have a husband who loves trying new flavours with me.
