I can’t believe it’s been three weeks asince I began this crazy journey. Sure, in the grand scheme of things that’s not really a long time, but for me, this is a big milestone. I’m known for previously quitting the gym by the end of week one and being over the “healthier lifestyle” idea by week two. So this week has been an fantastic success by just getting there. Remember, success is paved with small victories…I think that’s how the saying goes. Or maybe I just read that on Pinterest.
What happened this week, you might be asking. Well, I ramped up the gym, even going twice yesterday! I didn’t get to the pool like I wanted to, and my excuse is pretty shitty one but I stand by it – I didn’t feel like shaving my legs. While shitty, I know women will understand those feelings of just not being arsed to shave their legs. It is what it is, and I’m OK with my choice. PLUS I made up for it by going to the gym that night, so that’s something, right?
On the healthy eating front, I’ve reconnected with my love of spinach AND I’ve converted Pete along the way. For a man who said he hates spinach, he’s loved everything I’ve made with it so far. Well, except for my spinach, bocconcini and grape tomato salad – that was all for Mati.
I do have one guilty pleasure that we indulged in this week, and that’s sushi. I mean, I even dream about the yumminess that is a spicy salmon roll (thanks Sandra for teaching me the delicious sushi ways!). This is something I’m going to need to restrain myself from, considering spicy crab rolls are 10 Weight Watcher points per six pieces – thank the fucking heavens for bonus weekly points. To help me still enjoy my sushi habit, I’ve been steering away from tempura, which is tough, but when a single shrimp tempura is 10 points, your taste buds are fine with the change. OK, sushi discussion for now. Sorry if I made you crave it as you read this post.
But how about the weight loss? It’s great! I’m down another 3.2 pounds, and I’ve noticed a slight reduction in my PCOS symptoms this week. It might still be too early for the changes to be from the lifestyle changes, and it could just be a coincidence, but this is a step in the right direction. My skin seems less oily and I haven’t lost as much hair when I’m brushing it. So wins all around.
Anyway, I think that’s it for now. Until next week…
