Mug Monday Recap: January 2022
In late November, my husband started poking fun at my mug collection. More so the number of mugs I have, especially since we are only two people in the house. So, I decided I needed to vindicate the collection by starting something I like to call Mug Monday.
The premise of Mug Monday is simple; every Monday, I post a new mug from my collection with a caption about why I selected it that day.
And since I’ve taken it upon myself to start posting more on Instagram, I thought having a recap on the blog would be a fun thing to do.
So, let’s begin January’s Mug Monday recap!
January 3, 2022
The caption: Happy Mug Monday! Yes, I know I missed last week’s post, but I thought my Christmas Day post would count instead. So, yeah, that’s my excuse, lol.
I’m not sure how many of you are starting to ease yourself back into work like I am today, but if you’re like me, that’s what this Monday is all about.
That said, opening my inbox to 277 emails was not the most joyous of gifts from the holiday season, which is why I thought today’s mug was so fitting.
Again, it’s another fabulous @meidesignsca creation.
It reads:

The caption: Happy Mug Monday! Today’s mug is NOT a @meidesignsca creation, but one I got at @starbuckscanada a few years ago.
I know this is essentially a Mei Designs fan page, but I promise I’ll have more of her mugs to showcase in the weeks to come.
This was one of my go-to mugs back when I worked at the @cnibfoundation, as it was so handy for those early morning commutes into the city, and it was easily refillable when I was in the office.
Now, it should be noted that I would have four or five cups of coffee a day with this baby, which maybe wasn’t the best for my health, but it did help me stay focused, hahaha.

The caption: Happy snowy Mug Monday! If you’re in the path of this winter storm here in southern Ontario, you know that I’m basically snowed in.
Luckily, I woke up feeling exhilarated and excited for the week ahead, and the snow didn’t dampen that mood. On the contrary, to be honest, it actually added to the happiness as I got to watch my fluffy puppies frolic in delight in the snow.
So, my choice of mug today is a damn perfect one. Going back to stanning @meidesignsca, today’s mug is one of her brilliant creations. And it says all you need to know about me – I’m a fucking delight!
Nothing can bring me down today!

The caption: Despite being woken up at 3:15 a.m., I’m feeling energized and excited for the day and week ahead.
So, it’s only fitting that I use this @starbuckscanada travel mug for today’s Mug Monday! With the confetti and the words “Best Day Ever,” this mug just reinforces my mantra for the day.
Do I have writing and editing to do? Lots. Do I have lots of meetings? Of course, some. But am I doing it all with a smile on my face and with my fourth cup of coffee? You better believe it.

The caption: I have a busy week ahead, so I thought this mug was a perfect selection for Mug Monday.
Yes, it’s a @meidesignsca creation, which shouldn’t be surprising because this is essentially a fan page for her mugs, hahaha.
You see, sometimes when I know a week is going to be a bit chaotic, I also know it can be a drama-filled week too. So here’s hoping it’s not, but if it is, this quote from @schittscreek‘s Moira Rose will get me through it.
“Never let the bastards get you down.”
So cheers to Monday, to a busy week ahead, and to the fantastic people (colleagues, friends and family) in my life that will be dealing with me as I stress out, hahaha.
